Be USDOT Compliant! USDOT Number Decal Lettering on Your Truck Guide With Examples!
Is your truck DOT compliant? This is the question we ask all of our customers all of the time! Not being USDOT compliant can cause you a lot of headaches and trouble!
Your USDOT lettering must be two inches in height and must be visible from a distance of at least 50 feet away and must be displayed on both sides. If you have a white vehicle then you want to display your information in dark or black lettering.
In the example below, the customer is displaying all of his information on his rear passenger door window from the inside. This customer placed his decal on the inside of his truck and his glass has a window tint. His sign is barely visible, and this is NOT DOT compliant.
On the right side, the customer is now displaying all of his legal information outside of his truck door and it’s so much easier to read. This is DOT compliant, and he will not have any issues with authorities. Please remember to read the laws and regulations for your state and follow these basic regulations. Not being displayed properly can cost you.
