Why Is It Important To Display All Of Your USDOT Numbers Outside Of Your Commercial Vehicle?

Displaying all of your USDOT required regulation numbers is extremely important when it comes to FMCSA & DOT compliance. For starters, if you were to get into an accident, the first thing that is looked up is the USDOT number. Let’s say a heavy truck gets into an accident and there are casualties. If the truck does not have a USDOT number, it would be harder to track down the business or individual to hold them accountable.

Also, displaying your regulation numbers helps expedite your time at truck scales or weight stations. As soon as you pull up, cameras read your information such as USDOT, MC, GWV and send that information back to the weight station worker for clearance. If something does not align up, you better believe that you will be pulled over.
